The beauty of modernism in Punjab

The first trips of a year are always special! This year has literally been a roller coaster ride for the whole world. I landed at Gaj Retreat after lockdown! I have always been an avid lover of resorts and retreats, though this was my first stay at Punjab. I was invited on this trip as a travel blogger.

Overview of Gaj Retreat- An Eco-Luxury Resort

After a warm and safe welcome from the team at Gaj, I went to my room to freshen up and get ready for the excursions planned for my first day at Gaj Retreat.

The sun was setting when I reached this ecstatic spot near Swan, a tributary of Satluj river after the super adventurous off-roading and river crossing ride!

Sunset view @ Gaj

The team had set up a small high tea and I loved both, the snacks and the sunset view. It was mesmerizing!

After such a ball time, I came back to my room (which was still not explored), changed, and went to the Poolside bar at the common pool area. It has panoramic views of the place surrounded by hills. We had a lovely meet up with the owner and other guests!

After a good night’s sleep, I finally had time to check my lavish room. Trust me guys, you won’t be able to get out of the rooms, they’re so good!

I was greeted by a sumptuous traditional Punjabi lunch at the special chef’s table. My hot favorites are missi roti and dal makhani! I ate missi roti every day of my stay at Gaj Retreat. I attacked all the things sweet with a vengeance! (still drooling!)

Some dessert for that sweet tooth!

I tried to digest some of that lunch by doing a small trail discovery in this gorgeous unexplored area but we goofed up a lot more than doing any serious workout!

A lot of my blogging trips go at breakneck speed but not this one. I had time to enjoy the views, the bathtub, and my gorgeous room! If you have been to Gaj chances are you must have fallen in love with hot bathtubs. The toiletries in the bathroom of Gaj Retreat.

I had the pleasure of having one of my breakfasts at the bank of Swan. I had one of the best breakfasts that day, sausages with omelets and fresh fruits.

Gaj Retreat is a luxury eco-resort located on a plateau at Manaswal which is a mere 20 min drive from Nangal & 2 hours from Chandigarh. Here, you can relax in your chalets/villas and enjoy all that the great outdoors have to offer.

Every aspect of the retreat is designed to be environmentally friendly and it has been built using local materials and manpower to ensure a minimum negative impact on the environment. The retreat has extensive recycling and refuge-elimination programs in order to cut and offset its carbon footprint.

Gaj Retreat truly features exotic luxury in complete harmony with all the elements of nature that make this property so very special. The Retreat spans over acres of beautiful forest land and has been developed with the deepest respect for the natural environment.

From the moment you set foot on the property you are bound to get mesmerized by the surrounding landscapes, dramatic sunsets, and starry nights

After staying in so many hotels, I know what excites me. I like rooms on high floors and with a view, be it city, ocean or nature in any form! My room at the Gaj Retreat gave me a mountain view on one side and the pool on the other with a bathtub right in front of the window! For a few days, I would happily take all this luxury with gratitude!

So, all luxury and travel lovers, I will highly recommend this place for a quick escape from city life. This place offers amazing excursion activities with super cool rooms.

PS. Stay tuned for the Koti Resort review….super excited!
